I'm computer-less

I ignored the signals and today my hard drive kaputted.

This was distressing and I am sad without my MacBook. But here are two things:

I re -organized my work load and feel more in control of tasks than I have in a while.

I saw more of Atlanta.

End of story.

It seems like a small thing, but it made us feel like adults: we have a license plate.

We also had to ask the lady at the registration office how to affix it to our car. She assumed a look of confusion and fear, as did her colleague next to her, I explained we are from out of town and they both laughed at us.

Good times.

More thoughts on Baby Showers

It strikes me as odd that we hold showers for pregnancy and, I now hear, weddings. In other words: occasions we plan and choose. And then ask others to subsidise.

Yet we don't hold such events for unexpected events, such as a sudden illness or accident. In other words: something we truly could not plan, did not invite and is now leaving us in a difficult situation.

Who can explain this to me?

When kids turn bad

And kill.

I had an unpleasant dream yesterday in which I was following a 12 year old homeless kid who was a brutal serial killer basing his murder scenes on Winnie the Pooh stories and who looked just like Justin Bieber.

My office takes shape

Lucky me, spending Sunday at Ikea... and quite literally being lost in the parking lot as we hunted high and low for our sweet Abby. (Yes: we were on the wrong floor, we eventually realised).

Having purchased the (hopefully) last pieces needed, for my home office, I now get to spend any free time doing this:

In other news we finally tried the Atlanta Fish Market on Sunday, which was great. We are still getting used to the size of things here though, is it strange that it seemed huge to us?

I have Pinterest

And it's odd, because mu most populated boards and likes are clothes and food. It's odd because I don't shop and I dont' cook.

My Pinterest.

I have an Aveo

The "Settling in" nears completion, with the big step of the automobile purchase.

I called her Abby (thank you Jen) - it's an alliteration.

More importantly: she's a Chevvy. The first car I remember my family owning was also a Chevrolet. Because we moved to the country with the smallest streets available, so they bought the largest car they could find.
